Chasing balls? I’m in!

dog-on-phone-vintage-photo

I simply must tell every poochie pie and putter nutter that something big (well, bigger than me) is a-coming in September. I sure hope this fancy contraption works. If it doesn’t, I’ll have to run around all of Ridgefield and yap, yap, yap the news. Trust me, no one wants that.

And the news is…

The 4th Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser to benefit the Ridgefield Library,
FORE! the Library Building Fund will
be held on Sunday, September 30, from 1 to 7 pm.

And here’s what you need to know:

  • Location: Tri Mountain Golf Course (1701 NW 299th Street Ridgefield, WA/360-887-3004/trimountaingolf.com)
  • This tournament is an 18-hole scramble
  • A team is 4-people large

What? I paid my registration fee, and the gal who called me said it was a Scramble. I scrambled to get this ball after some human batted the thing way out here. I’ll give it back when I’m finished. Cross my paws and hope to slobber.

As always, thanks for continued support of YOUR community library!

3rd Annual Guilt-Free Pizza Night! It’s True!

Girl_eating_pizza

There’s no room for guilt when eating is this much of an adventure!

Go ahead.

Have seconds…or thirds.

Just make sure to save your splurge for
MONDAY, AUGUST 6, from 4-9, at
Vinnie’s Pizza, Pasta and More in downtown Ridgefield

That’s when your (and our) favorite downtown Ridgefield Italian restaurant is hosting a fundraiser to help raise money for the Ridgefield Community Library.

Vinnie’s Pizza, Pasta and More will be donating 10% of the proceeds all food and drink sales (eat-in or take-out) to the library building fund! As a bonus, the generous owners of Vinnie’s will donate another 10% to equal 20% cash-back to YOUR wonderful library!

So bring your appetites!

And know that by having a delicious meal, you will be supporting your community in two ways:

  1. by helping to make our dream library a reality!
  2. by patronizing a local business that believes in libraries as much as you do!

If that doesn’t want to make you grab another slice of pizza and raise it in a toast for our awesome community, I don’t know what will!

Ridgefield is full of pizza party animals!

This should be a great time for everyone. Ridgefield is full of pizza party animals!

Give Me Liberty (Blend) or Give Me…

Take a few deep breaths, Patrick. We know you’re all jazzed up about telling your compatriots about the BIG news coming out of Seasons in Ridgefield. But don’t be so melodramatic, especially about tea. One should be mellow about tea. So let us take over and announce the scoop about Liberty Blend Tea, okay Big Guy?

The Friends of Ridgefield Community Library are proud to announce (on behalf of Sharon Grace Kryger, Tea Sommelier and owner of Gracefully Yours Fine Tea Company in Ridgefield AND Earleen Griswold, owner of Seasons coffee and tea shop in downtown Ridgefield) that a new, loose-leaf tea is available for sale EXCLUSIVELY at Seasons.

The tea comes from Sharon’s local plantation, is organic, and all of the ingredients are locally-sourced. The special blend, called LIBERTY BLEND (Earleen’s brainchild) was created over many months of collaborations between the two businesswomen.

Yes, Good People of Ridgefield, we are serious about our tea. We are serious about hats. Our hair? Not so serious about that. Oh, and we are not Sharon and Earleen, but would seriously love to try this Liberty Blend of which they speak.

10% of all sales of this delicious tropical peach green tea goes directly to the Ridgefield Building Fund, helping to make our dream of a NEW LIBRARY come that much closer to reality.

Hip hip, jolly good! A percentage of what I purchase goes to a charitable cause? I shall drink to that.

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by Seasons to sample LIBERTY BLEND, please accept Sharon and Earleen’s gracious invitation to a WELCOME RECEPTION on June 9 from 9 am to 12 noon. Enjoy a cup of tea, eat some light treats, and thank these marvelous businesswomen for supporting the library.

Why aren’t more people here? Oh! It says Saturday, June 9th from 9 to noon. I told you, Milly, Friday at our afternoon naptime was probably not the best time to sneak away. But the Liberty Blend tea is yummy!

Water you doing on June 7th?

Um…er…either this fashion senseless guy is fishing for his dinner or he’s fishing for attention. Either way, he’s welcome to come to our fundraiser on Thursday, June 7th as long as he brings a hearty appetite. Some pants would be good, too.

Hang on! While I’ve got you, let me remind you of some events that are coming up really quickly. I know, I know. Tom, the cat who happens to my hubby, says I’m always putting my paw in where it doesn’t belong, but I know purrfectly well that we call can use a little scratch on the backside to remind us of what’s happening in the sandbox. Am I right?

Just a quick reminder:

Friday, April 13th, 4-5 pm at the library: Welcome reception for our new librarian, Jessica, hosted by the Friends. Light refreshments served. Open to the public.

Saturday, April 14th, 11 am-1:30 pm in the large room at the Community Center: Public Forum about the possible location of the new library hosted by the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District. Information will be given and discussion from the audience is encouraged. Friends will provide light refreshments. Open to the public.

Hope to see you there, folks, and thanks a mighty heap for your support!

Let’s Party…Again!

2015_Hallowenn_dog_costume_party_1

It’s about dog-gone time we had another party in the library! I’ve been waiting with baited doggie breath to let Jessica know what a tail-wagging’ friendly place Ridgefield is. Plus, I hear some drool-worthy kibble and bits will be there for everyone to nibble on! And don’t worry, you don’t have to dress as fancy-pants as I do; most of you can’t pull off flashy the way I can.

On Friday, April 13, the Friends of Ridgefield Community Library are hosting a Welcome Reception for Jessica, the newest addition to our team of spectacular librarians! The reception will be held from 4 to 5 pm at the library and is open to the public

In keeping with tradition, there will be yummy light refreshments, lots of great friends and probably more laughs than you’ll find in your typical library. Let’s give Jessica a good old Ridgefield Welcome by having lots of you come down to meet her and make her feel at home!

This is Jessica. If you want to learn more about her than her name, you’ll have to come to the library to ask her!

Hope to see you there!
