Give Me Liberty (Blend) or Give Me…

Take a few deep breaths, Patrick. We know you’re all jazzed up about telling your compatriots about the BIG news coming out of Seasons in Ridgefield. But don’t be so melodramatic, especially about tea. One should be mellow about tea. So let us take over and announce the scoop about Liberty Blend Tea, okay Big Guy?

The Friends of Ridgefield Community Library are proud to announce (on behalf of Sharon Grace Kryger, Tea Sommelier and owner of Gracefully Yours Fine Tea Company in Ridgefield AND Earleen Griswold, owner of Seasons coffee and tea shop in downtown Ridgefield) that a new, loose-leaf tea is available for sale EXCLUSIVELY at Seasons.

The tea comes from Sharon’s local plantation, is organic, and all of the ingredients are locally-sourced. The special¬†blend, called LIBERTY BLEND (Earleen’s brainchild) was created over many months of collaborations between the two businesswomen.

Yes, Good People of Ridgefield, we are serious about our tea. We are serious about hats. Our hair? Not so serious about that. Oh, and we are not Sharon and Earleen, but would seriously love to try this Liberty Blend of which they speak.

10% of all sales of this delicious tropical peach green tea goes directly to the Ridgefield Building Fund, helping to make our dream of a NEW LIBRARY come that much closer to reality.

Hip hip, jolly good! A percentage of what I purchase goes to a charitable cause? I shall drink to that.

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by Seasons to sample LIBERTY BLEND, please accept Sharon and Earleen’s gracious invitation to a WELCOME RECEPTION on June 9 from 9 am to 12 noon. Enjoy a cup of tea, eat some light treats, and thank these marvelous businesswomen for supporting the library.

Why aren’t more people here? Oh! It says Saturday, June 9th from 9 to noon. I told you, Milly, Friday at our afternoon naptime was probably not the best time to sneak away. But the Liberty Blend tea is yummy!

Look for Us. We’ll be There!

Rodger that! I’m all geared up and ready for duty, Sir or, um, Ma’am. No way nothin’s gettin’ by my super-duper p-ray vision (the p stand for plastic, silly!) helmet gizmo. If you’re there, I’ll find you alright. But, um, who are you, and where am I supposed to be lookin’?

The Friends will be among the many booths at Overlook Park during Ridgefield’s First Saturdays from May through October.

Hang on! While I’ve got you, let me remind you of some events that are coming up really quickly. I know, I know. Tom, the cat who happens to my hubby, says I’m always putting my paw in where it doesn’t belong, but I know purrfectly well that we call can use a little scratch on the backside to remind us of what’s happening in the sandbox. Am I right?

Just a quick reminder:

Friday, April 13th, 4-5 pm at the library: Welcome reception for our new librarian, Jessica, hosted by the Friends. Light refreshments served. Open to the public.

Saturday, April 14th, 11 am-1:30 pm in the large room at the Community Center: Public Forum about the possible location of the new library hosted by the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District. Information will be given and discussion from the audience is encouraged. Friends will provide light refreshments. Open to the public.
